The Upper Room Discourse is really just a conversation between Jesus & the 12.
His time on earth was about to end. He knew it. He had some things He wanted to emphasize to the 12 before he left, by way of the cross & the resurrection. They had some questions they wanted answers to.
The Upper Room Discourse is not really a formal teaching. It's full of truth, powerful truth. But it's not a lecture. It's more of an after dinner time of reflection, questions, & conversation.
